Jack Burge, a tailor from Hillcot, near Pewsey in Wiltshire, emigrated to Australia in 1855 with his wife and two sons – he began working in the vineyards, and his son Meshach followed suite, making his first wine in 1865 – and so the tradition has followed through to the 21st century, with Grant Burge – now 5th generation of viticulturists and wine makers, heading up the company, and he is naturally very proud of his roots.
Located in the heart of the celebrated Barossa Valley his wines are recognised worldwide for their consistent quality as result of being crafted from the finest Barossa fruit and passionate hands-on winemaking.
GRANT BURGE ICON WINES
The Icon wines are crafted from old vineyards, most of which are more than 90 years old. The most premium fruit is selected from exceptional vintages and acute focus is applied to every bottle produced. These are some of the finest wines in the world, and careful cellaring will reward the patient. As a consequence stocks are limited.
GRANT BURGE WINES OF DISTINCTION
The Wines of Distinction range display the true character of premium wines produced from Barossa old-vine fruit, made with seamless balance and individual character.
